- For a 24F MPO to LC harness cable / MTP to LC harness cable, the mapping depends on whether you are using a standard Type A, Type B, or Type C polarity.
- The most common configuration is Type B (Rollover), which maps Pin 1 on the MPO connector to Channel 12 on the LC side, and Pin 2 to Channel 11.
- The exact polarity mapping depends on the structured cabling standard (TIA-568) you are following:
+ Type A (Straight-Through): Fiber 1 connects to Fiber 1, Fiber 2 to Fiber 2, and so on. To ensure proper Transmit-to-Receive (Tx-to-Rx) alignment, one end of the link requires a standard crossover patch cord (A-to-B).
+ Type B (Reversed/Rollover): Fiber 1 connects to Fiber 24, Fiber 2 to Fiber 23, and so on. This method is highly popular for direct hardware patching (such as 40G/100G transceivers) as it seamlessly flips Tx and Rx automatically.
+ Type C (Pairwise Swapped): Adjacent fiber pairs are swapped (e.g., 1↔2, 3↔4, 5↔6). This maintains standard Tx/Rx alignment without needing crossover patch cables, but requires carefully configured trunk cables.
