KCO-GLC-EX-SMD 1000BASE-EX SFP 1310nm 40km DOM Duplex LC SMF Fiber Optic Transceiver Module
Description
+ KCO-GLC-EX-SMD fiber optic transceiver is a transceiver module used in networks for long-distance, high-speed data transmission over single-mode fiber (SMF).
+ Its primary application is providing 1000BASE-EX Gigabit Ethernet connectivity over distances of up to 40 kilometers (24.8 miles) using a 1310nm wavelength and an LC connector. This makes it suitable for applications like connecting buildings, data centers, or other network infrastructure over extended physical links.
+ It supports up to 40km link lengths over LC duplex SMF fiber. Each SFP transceiver module is individually tested to be used on a series of Cisco switches, routers, servers, network interface card (NICs) etc.
+ Featuring low power consumption, this industrial optic transceiver provides 1GBASE Ethernet connectivity options for Gigabit Ethernet, Telecom and Data Centers, suitable for both outdoor and indoor deployments.
Key Characteristics
+ Long-Distance Connectivity: It's designed for longer distances than shorter-reach SFP modules, connecting network devices across significant spans.
+ Gigabit Ethernet: The module supports 1 Gbps data transfer rates, enabling high-speed Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-EX) networks.
+ Single-Mode Fiber (SMF): It operates over single-mode fiber optic cable, which is known for its ability to carry signals over long distances with low signal loss.
+ Hot-Swappable: The SFP (Small Form-Factor Pluggable) design allows the module to be installed or removed from a network device (like a switch or router) without shutting down the network, minimizing downtime during upgrades or replacements.
+ LC Connector: It uses a standard duplex LC interface for its fiber connection.
+ Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM): It features DOM capabilities, allowing network administrators to monitor real-time operational parameters of the transceiver for diagnostics and performance management.
Application
+ Enterprise Networks: Connecting different sections of a large campus or office building.
+ Data Centers: Linking server racks, storage devices, and core network switches over long distances within a facility.
+ Service Provider Networks: Extending fiber optic connections for telecommunication services.
